Incomparably beautiful woman. Her cousin, cinematographer James Wong Howe, fell in love with an Anglo woman and they had to wait to be married until 1948. Even then, I think they had to visit several judges until they found one who said oh-so graciously, "Well, if she wants to marry a Chink that's her business." Different times. Thank god. But Anna May was a face for the ages.
